This Tactical Space Marine Custom Minifigure by McLovin is inspired by the fictional universe of Warhammer 40,000 (or Warhammer 40k). Space Marines are genetically modified ‘super human’ soldiers created by the Emperor to conquer the galaxy and defend mankind.

I put to use my rather limited sculpting skills on this lovely Breakthrough Army Iron Man armor in order to make something I have been conceptualizing for a long time – the Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine.

Credit is well due to Pecovam and Pedro for the design for the hinged arms, and to Geoshift for the inspiration for the figure.

Sometimes it’s the little details that turn a great minifigure into an awesome minifigure, and this is a fine example of this. Before we even look at the custom minifigure how amazing is that skull stuck on the spike ?!?

Mixing Warhammer 40k pieces with LEGO is a growing trend and if you can pull it off, it looks great but and it all depends on what style you are trying to create. This Tactical Space Marine is nicely painted and the gold detailing makes him really stand-out. The helmet is especially good and the painted gun is nicely detailed, although we think this minifgure would have been suited with something more substantial.
