This Sgt Barnes Custom Minifigure is inspired by the character from the 1986 American war film Platoon written and directed by Oliver Stone. Staff Sergeant Bob Barnes is played by Tom Berenger.

The scar is carved into the minifigures face, in order to try and convey the deep scarring that Barnes has across his face. (No minifigure was hurt in this process)

All the pouches, backpack, boot, trouser and shirt trim are all made from Styrene and the headscarf and rifle sling are made from fabric. The weapon is a modified Minifig.cat M4T1 to try to get it to resemble the Colt 635P he uses in the film.

The pouches on the front of the minifigure and backpack look excellent and there are small details everywhere you look down to the fingers on the hands. The rolled up sleeves and pants rolled at the bottom are a nice touch and he also carries a dagger.
