Custom Minifigure Disasters Part 2

Following our Custom Minifigure Disasters Part 1 post a number of readers have mentioned they love this feature, so once again I hope this post hasn’t offended anyone, we are just having a bit of fun, and I am sure quite a few of you will be nodding saying, my first custom looked like that!

Booster Gold is a fictional DC Comics superhero character and a key member in the late 1980s/early 1990s Justice League. His costume allows him to fly, use a protective forcefield and gives him advanced strength. It is great to see someone creating him as a custom minifigure, however this attempt shows how hard it is to use Sculpey.

The muscle effect on the torso and legs looks alright and the painted detailing is not bad however I am not sure what happened to his hair? A blond LEGO hair piece would look better and then this minifigure is pretty good!

The key to being a top customizer is to take onboard cristism as long as it is contructive, and don’t be afraid to try new techniques out!

  1. I have been a fan of this site for some time, but seeing this topic has left me feeling rather disappointed.

Why do some websites feel the need to point out others works that they do not like, all this does is shatter the confidence of the customizer. What if this custom was made by someone young who was just starting to make customs, after seeing such a negative verdict that person might never try again and someone with promise could be lost.

Those that customize Lego are still not fully accepted by some fans of Lego and i cannot help but feel such topics are counter productive.

I have lost a lot of respect for this site.

  2. When I asked fans of the site what they wanted to see more of, Custom Minifigure Disasters was mentioned as a favourite topic. However as I do not want to upset anyone I will not be doing any more.
