I was looking through Flickr and came across billbobful’s page and was amazed at the number of high quality custom minifigures he has done, so we had to interview him, and highlight his work!
1. How did you first get into custom minifigures?
I first got in to custom minifigs when The Dark Knight came out. I really wanted an accurate Joker, but Lego didn’t have one so I decided to make my own. It was a terrible figure, and has been redone many times.
2. Where do you get your ideas and inspiration from?
I get my ideas and inspiration mainly from video games, comic books, movies, TV shows, and other customisers. My favorite things to make would be superheroes and Doctor Who. There’s such a wide variety of stuff to make in both; it’s nearly endless!
3. Are there any customizers that you look up to, or inspire you?
I’m a fan of many customisers. My favorite and the ones I look up to most would be eclipsegrafx, Pedro, pecovam, Jasbrick, tomleech, Vieral, tin7_creations, and Morgan190. There’s more, but I just can’t think of them at the moment.
4. What do you think of the Lego Collectors series?
I absolutely love the Collectible minifigures! It has provided so many new, exciting, and extremely useful pieces!
5. Are you currently on any new projects?
Yes, I’m currently working on Batman: Arkham City minifigures. I’ve uploaded a few, but there’s still more to come! 😀
