This OMA Custom Minifigure is jam packed full of third party LEGO compatible pieces from Minifig.cat and eclipseGrafx and looks really good.

I am sure Richard won’t mind, however there has been a discussion in the LEGO Flickr community that due to the vast number of available products has lead to a decline in original ideas, with customisers churning out similar products, and a lack of creativity due to the ease that these products are available.

There has always been different times of customisers from purists, sculpters, painters and using third party vendors. Each one takes imagination and they all have a huge part to play in the community.

These third party vendors have taken customising to the next level with some amazing stuff and made it very easy for everyone to create fantastic minifigures at a low cost, which can’t be a bad thing!

So the next custom minifigure you create why not go and buy a brush and a couple of paints and try and paint some camouflage or give the rifle a weathered look.  Small touches will make your minifig stand-out from the rest and you may have a more enjoyable time making him.
